Thailand

Quiet beaches and national parks beyond the usual trail

We start where few travellers go: the long, quiet beaches of Bang Saphan and Ban Krut on the Gulf of Thailand, and the forests of Kaeng Krachan National Park — a train ride or drive south of Bangkok.

About Thailand

Most visitors to Thailand head for the islands. South of Hua Hin, the coast of Prachuap Khiri Khan province stays remarkably calm: long beaches, fishing villages and small family-run places to stay, all on the main southern railway line.

Inland, Kaeng Krachan is Thailand’s largest national park and part of a UNESCO World Heritage forest complex, known for its waterfalls and birdlife.
